Performance

Everything you've come to know about French tanks changes with this vehicle. You'll have to forget about the armor of the AMX 40, but for the first time you'll be able to move at high speed and use a great gun. In fact the ELC AMX has the highest damage and penetration of all tier 5s (excluding tank destroyers). Its ability to flank is limited because of its lack of a fully rotatable turret. The powerful derp of the 90mm gun is also limited by the excruciating aim time and slow reload. It also has a typically French poor gun depression and elevation, limiting the value as a sniping gun. Therefore, it is best used as a pure hit-and-run tank, almost flying into to an unsuspecting tank and firing when it is almost impossible to miss before fleeing away to reload and go for another pass. Never stop moving, for a stationary ELC is a dead ELC.

The 90mm cannon in its pseudo-turret allow it to challenge most heavy tanks form all angles, but also means that the ELC is ill-suited to challenging other light tanks in anything less than ideal conditions due to the fact the turret has worse traverse than many non-turreted TDs and even some artillery. However, the ELC can drive by distracted or isolated tanks to shoot them at point blank range to negate its poor gun handling, but this technique is risky.

Scouting is recommended in all tiers due to the extreme specialization of this vehicle. The size, weight, and play style of this tank are comparable to the French Renault UE 57 tank destroyer. Keep in mind of how hard it is to hit you, as it could be useful in many situations. Be prepared to help teammates out, by scouting, flanking, or drawing an enemy's attention away for an "easy kill." This tank MUST be coordinated with allies, let them know what you're trying to do before you do it, although you can proceed to what you NEED to do in hurry cases. Help allies out, and the battlefield would technically be your team's turf.

Avoid opposing fast mediums or same-tier light tanks- they have enough performance to challenge your small stature and speed, and your pseudo-turret will be of no benefit. Vehicles such as the Chaffee and the VK 16.02 Leopard will have sufficient performance to catch, chase and destroy you. In these cases, use your good power-weight ratio of 36.98 hp/ton to make rapid, unexpected changes in direction and your very small silhouette to avoid as much damage as possible long enough for your team to reach your position and destroy the assailants.

Due to its short height, the ELC can 'sidehug' a lot of tall tanks to make it impossible to hit, because many of these tanks do not have enough gun depression to reach it. However, this should be a last resort - your speed and camo are often more useful against such tanks. Ramming in an ELC is universally considered foolish, due to the extreme light weight and armor of the vehicle.

Carro fantastico a mio avviso,una delle chicche preferite da tutti i tankers.
Da tenere in officina assolutamente per mille motivi.
Comque,guide a parte,pro e contro che servono tanto per capire il gioco che va fatto con quel carro,provate a giocarci plotonati con 5 ELC,vi garantisco che e' la cosa piu divertente e devastante che ci possa essere.
Si hanno un po di problemi iniziali di coordinamento su mappa per i primi approcci che si fanno con questa line-up,ma vi assicuro che e' divertentissimo e guasi sempre,almeno che non si vada con tier estremmamente alti,si vince la partita e si porta a casa sempre per merito di voi 5.
la tattica e' questa:
-Formazione in fila indiana ( su mappe aperte e qualche labirintica )
-Designazione di un capo plotone che indica gli obbiettivi di movimento e di raggruppamento ( e' il primo della fila davanti ) Il raggruppamento deve avvenire sempre in zone sicure e coperte ( es case,villaggetti isolati,avvallamenti o conche strategiche ) quindi prima di partire gia farsi un'idea del tragitto da compiere.In velocita' e' difficile pensare a questa cosa all'inizio proprio per il comportamento frenetico che hanno,una volta avviata la tattica.
-Spottaggio iniziale partendo dai bordi mappa o incursione fra le fila nemiche ( in alcune mappe si puo anche andare nel cuore della formazione nemica per causare panico e terrore,sempre in fila indiana)
-Fuoco concentrato ( essenziale per questo tipo di approccio ) se fatto bene,i carri ELC divorano come locuste 1 carro alla volta in pochissimo tempo.
Il fuoco concentrato ad alta velocita e in fila indiana e' difficilissimo da attuare,ma da grande soddisfazione con questo carro.
In pratica si designa un bersaglio esposto/scoperto/isolato/indebolito etc etc gia da lontano e lo si carica in movimento a 60/70 km/h.
Applicare le schivate ed evasioni come in tutti gli spotter quando sono sotto il fuoco nemico e' di vitale importanza mentre ci si avvicina a tutta velocita al bersaglio in fila indiana.
A questo punto una volta arrivati entro i 50 m,tutti e 5 i carri,sempre in fila indiana lo puntano dritto e sparano uno alla volta dal primo della fila fino all'ultimo,puntandolo e avvicinandosi a pochissi metri,sparando SOLO all'ultimo secondo primo di evitarlo,guasi come se voleste farci un frontale contro lol
Appena uno spara,lo evita all'ultimo secondo,sterzando in maniera decisa,uno a destra,uno a sinistra,uno a destra e via cosi fino all'ultimo della fila.
Se il bersaglio muore durante questa manovra,raggruppamento e designazione di un nuovo bersaglio fatta dal capo-plotone...
Poi ci sarebbero delle varianti molto simpatica da attuare,ma gia' fare questa,in modo fluido e' molto difficile ma vi assicuro che e' uno spasso senza precedenti....mooolto divertente.
Ah dimenticavo...ehehe ,nome in codice del plotone di 5 ELC: Ostertia e Locuste.
